Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is one of New Zealand’s largest Institutes of Technology serving the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato regions with major campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Whakatane, Taupo and Tokoroa, and learning centres spread across the region.

Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is committed to providing relevant targeted vocational and professional education to meet current and future employment needs. You'll be part of an institution that will support the region to grow, increasing access and participation and ensuring enhanced education and employment outcomes for our students.

The Communications and Content team has an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced communications professional to join its ranks. It’s a hybrid role so you’ll be at ease writing and editing content for various media platforms, developing and implementing communications strategy, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring our brand is well managed across multiple channels.

You’ll assist with content design for a range of internal and external communications channels, including our website, social media and intranet, and liaise with other staff to bring initiatives to life. You'll have a strong understanding and experience of current online and digital concepts, strategy and best practice.

A creative and results driven professional, you’ll have a great reputation for your ability to write clear, sharp, relevant content for digital and traditional media that reflects audience needs.

Reporting to the Communications and Content Manager, you’ll assist with managing a variety of projects, which at times will require a balance of creativity and pragmatism. This team embraces diversity, which we think adds to our strength, and we welcome candidates that will thrive in this environment.

This role is fixed-term, two days per week, with the potential to expand.

Familiarity with the tertiary sector would be an advantage and you’ll have a genuine desire to ensure quality education for all New Zealanders. Importantly you will be able to demonstrate strong alignment and commitment to our Toi Ohomai Values.

As a responsible employer and education provider, Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is committed to the protection of children and vulnerable persons and applies relevant policy and practice to meet this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo relevant vetting and employment checks.
